Account
How do I sign up for Klyro?
The process: email and password → code from the email → profile (name, username). Unfinished registrations are deleted after 24 hours.
How do I turn on phone notifications?
Android: the app from the Apps section. iPhone and iPad: Safari → Share → “Add to Home Screen”, then allow notifications.
How do I change my avatar and cover?
Settings → General. Upload a JPG, PNG, WebP or GIF (avatar up to 2 MB, cover up to 5 MB). The cover is saved right after you pick the file.
How do I change my email or password?
Settings → Email or Password. A confirmation code will be sent to the new email. Notifications also go to the account email.
Apps
Where do I download Klyro?
Windows — installer. macOS — DMG file. Linux — AppImage. Android — APK. iPhone and iPad — Safari only: Share → “Add to Home Screen”. It’s one handy app around the website.
If macOS writes that the application has not been checked: right-click on Klyro → Open.
Make the file executable: chmod +x Klyro.AppImage
After installing, allow notifications. If your phone warns about an unknown source, allow installing this APK.
- Open klyrosm.ru in Safari
- Tap “Share”
- “Add to Home Screen” → “Add”
- Open the shortcut and allow notifications
How is the app different from the website?
The interface and data are the same as on the website. It’s just a handy app. Design updates come from the server automatically — a new installer is needed only when the icon or native shell changes.
Is there an app for iPhone and iPad?
There’s no separate app in the App Store. On iPhone and iPad open klyrosm.ru in Safari → Share → “Add to Home Screen”. On a Mac download the DMG from the apps page.
What is Klyro’s age rating?
Official ratings are on the apps page and in the Terms of Service. Klyro is certified through IARC and the Microsoft Store: in most regions 12+ or parental guidance recommended; in Russia PCBP 0+, in the USA ESRB Everyone, in Germany USK Everyone, in Brazil DJCTQ L, in Chile CCC TE. Interactive element — users interact.
Security
How do I reset my password?
On the sign-in page tap “Forgot password?”. Enter your email, get a code and set a new password.
What is the sign-in code?
After the password, a one-time confirmation code is sent to your email — both in the browser and in the web app. That’s how the account is protected.
What happens when an account is blocked?
The reason, the term (if temporary) and a comment are shown. The blocked person sees this information on the block page and can write to support right from there.
What is the account rating?
Every account has a rating (by default “Excellent”, a green indicator). Confirmed reports lower the rating: the green part shrinks and the red part grows. If the rating is low, an exclamation mark appears in the profile. At zero rating (the whole indicator is red) the account is blocked permanently.
How do I report a message?
In a chat, tap the flag on someone else’s message, choose a reason and send. Reports are reviewed by moderators and the administration. A confirmed report lowers the account rating.
What is safe mode?
Settings → Security. If you turn it on, you won’t appear in search, and only people you’ve allowed by username or people you messaged first can write to you. You can keep an “allowed” list — these people can both find you and message you.
How do I see active devices?
Settings → Security → Devices and active sessions. Tap a device to see its IP, system and client. Other sessions can be ended; the current one can’t.
What happens after several wrong passwords?
After 5 wrong attempts, signing in to the account is blocked for 24 hours. Sessions that are already open keep working: you can remove the block in Settings → Security. You get an email saying someone tried to sign in. Resetting the password via “Forgot password?” also removes the block.
What is end-to-end encryption (E2E) in chats?
In private chats message text is encrypted on your device (ECDH P-256 + HKDF-SHA-256 + AES-256-GCM); only ciphertext reaches the server. Each device has its own key, so the conversation is readable on all your devices. The chat header shows an E2E badge and a safety number — compare it with your contact: if the codes match, the keys have not been swapped. Groups, bots and the news channel are not encrypted; photos, videos and files are not encrypted either. Encryption is performed by web code delivered from the server, so a full server compromise could also replace that code.
Messages
How do I mention someone in a message?
Type @ and the username, for example @ivan. If that user doesn’t have safe mode on, the tag turns into a button with their name that opens their profile. With safe mode on, the mention stays plain text.
What is the “Klyro News” channel?
It’s the platform’s official channel above the chat list. You can hide it from the list and show it again, and turn notifications on or off. You can’t leave the channel.
What do the check marks on messages mean?
One check mark — sent. Two — the other person opened the chat and read the messages.
Do I get message notifications?
Yes. The account email receives a letter about each new private message. If you allow browser notifications (the banner after signing in), the same event comes as a push to your phone. The service address no-reply@klyrosm.ru is used only for emails.
Checkmarks
What does the purple check mark mean?
A purple check mark means the creator of the Klyro platform. It gives full access to the admin panel.
What does the black check mark mean?
A black check mark means a Klyro moderator. Moderators help keep order on the platform.
What does the blue check mark mean?
A blue check mark means a verified public figure. It’s granted by the administration.
What does the Klyro icon before a name mean?
An icon with the Klyro logo before a name is official platform verification. It’s either an official service (for example Klyro Bot or the “Klyro News” channel) or the team’s official account (@klyro). Such accounts can’t be registered by anyone else.
What happens when I tap a check mark?
A short description opens: for regular check marks — the status type; for the Klyro icon — whether it’s a service or an official account. There’s a link to the “Check marks” FAQ section.
What is service verification (the blue rosette)?
A blue “rosette” with a check mark next to a service name is Klyro Creator verification. Only services that applied for the “Sign in with Klyro” API and passed the administration’s review get it.
While the application is under review there’s no check mark. After approval the service becomes active, and a client_id/secret and the verification badge appear.
If the review is rejected, the service is blocked: a new application can’t be submitted. Access can be restored or the service renamed only through support (Settings → Support).
This isn’t the same as a user’s blue/purple/black check mark, and not the same as the Klyro logo on the platform’s official accounts.
Sponsors
What does the green $ sign next to a name mean?
This is the sponsor badge: the person supported Klyro’s development with a voluntary transfer. The $ sign is separate from check marks (purple, black, blue) and gives neither Premium nor moderator rights.
How do I get the $ badge?
Settings → Support Klyro → open the Sber fundraiser and transfer any amount. Then tap “I’ve transferred” and say how to find your transfer. After verification the administration grants the $ badge. Sber doesn’t provide an API, so verification is manual.
Does $ give Premium?
No. The sponsor badge is a thank-you for your support. Premium is given away among donors separately and manually.
Bots
How do I create a bot?
1) Open Settings → Bots (or find “Klyro Bot” in messages).
2) Tap “Create bot”.
3) Write a name — like in a phone book (for example: My shop).
4) Come up with an address in Latin letters that must end with _bot (for example: shop_bot).
5) Done. At first the bot is visible only to you.
Then you can set a photo, replies and buttons. To let others find the bot — “My bot” → “Make public” (a review request).
You can create only one bot. You can delete the old one and make a new one.
How do I make a bot public?
After creation the bot is available only to you: others can’t find it in search.
“My bot” → “Make public” sends a request. Check the status there too (“Under review” / “Published” / “Rejected”).
If it’s rejected, the reason says what to fix; you can submit again. Deleting a bot is permanent (“Delete bot”).
How do I change the greeting and the commands button?
In the chat with Klyro Bot: “My bot” → “Greeting” (the reply to /start). “Start button” is the name of the big button in an empty chat. “Commands button” is the label of the “/” button next to the input field. Commands come from rules of the “Command” type.
How do I style a bot (bubbles, wallpaper, card)?
“My bot” → “Appearance” — available with an active Premium subscription. There you can choose message bubbles, the card in the chat list, an avatar frame and default wallpaper for chats with the bot (if the person doesn’t have their own wallpaper in that chat yet).
How do I set a photo (avatar) for a bot?
In the chat with Klyro Bot tap “My bot” → “Bot photo”. Then tap the paperclip at the bottom of the chat, choose a picture and send it. A square photo works best. Then open the bot — the avatar will appear in the chat.
How do I add buttons to a bot?
In Klyro Bot: “My bot” → “Button menu”. Then you can add buttons one by one (text → what it does), take a ready-made template (Yes/No, Shop, Contacts) or preview the draft and tap “Save”. No special format needed.
How do I teach the bot to reply?
“My bot” → “Add rule”. Choose: Command (for example /start), Word in message (for example “price”) or Exact match. Then write the reply as plain text. The list of rules is under the “Rules” button.
What is Klyro Bot?
Klyro Bot is Klyro’s official helper. It creates bots without programming. Open it from Settings → Bots or search “Klyro Bot” / @KlyroBot. Inside: creating, photo, replies, buttons, adding to a group, broadcasts and deletion.
How many bots can I create?
One bot per account. The username must end with _bot, for example shop_bot. You can delete the old bot in the Klyro Bot menu (“Delete bot”) and create a new one.
Creator
What is Klyro Creator?
Klyro Creator is a developer dashboard: apply for the “Sign in with Klyro” API (OAuth). After review you get a client_id and client_secret and can add Klyro sign-in to your website. Open it from Settings → Klyro Creator.
What does service verification mean?
Service verification is a blue rosette next to your app’s name in Creator and on OAuth screens.
It’s granted only after the administration approves the application. While the application is “under review”, there’s no badge.
Rejecting the application blocks the service: you can’t submit the form again. To restore the service or change its name, contact support and include the client_id / service name.
Support
How do I contact support?
Settings → Support. Create a request — you can attach photos, videos or documents (up to 5 files). The administration replies in the same section. Don’t write to no-reply — it’s for notifications only.
Where can I see my recent requests?
Settings → Support. Below the ticket form there’s a “My requests” block: a list of your tickets with their status. Open any of them to read the conversation, attachments and support replies.
What statuses do requests have?
OPEN — received. IN_PROGRESS — in progress. RESOLVED — resolved. CLOSED — closed.
How do I report a user?
In a profile open “Report”, or in a chat tap the flag on a message. Choose a reason. Moderators can confirm the report — then the account rating goes down.
Appearance
How do I change the theme?
In the header (on a computer) or in Settings → Theme: light, dark or system.
Premium
What does Klyro Premium give?
Premium unlocks profile styling: an emoji next to your name, the golden Premium star, avatar frames (including sparkling “Stars”), name styles (gradient, shine, rainbow and shimmering rainbow), a status under @username, profile card themes and a bio up to 500 characters (without Premium — up to 160).
How do I activate Premium?
Settings → Gift cards. Enter a code like KLYRO-XXXX-XXXX. After activation a Premium section appears in Settings where you can set up styling. You can extend the subscription the same way — with a new code.
Where do I set up Premium styling?
Settings → Premium (the section is visible only with an active subscription). There you choose the emoji, frame, name style, profile theme and status. Tap “Save styling”, then open your profile.
Can I cancel Premium?
No. The subscription can’t be turned off manually — it lasts until the specified date. You can extend it with a code from the “Gift cards” section.
Where do I get a gift code?
Codes are issued by the Klyro administration (promotions, gifts, support). You can’t buy Premium on the website yourself yet — only activate it with a code.
